Ramona residents: Would you like the option of green burial at Ramona Cemetery? Please share your views!
The Ramona Cemetery District Board of Directors is exploring the possibility of establishing a green burial section within the cemetery for Ramona residents. A short community survey is gathering residents’ opinions and interest to help inform that discussion.

What is green burial?
Green burial allows the body to return naturally to the earth, typically using a biodegradable casket or a burial shroud, without conventional embalming chemicals or a concrete burial vault. It offers an alternative for people who prefer a simpler approach that uses fewer manufactured materials.
Why are we asking?
This survey will help the Ramona Cemetery District Board of Directors understand whether residents would welcome this option, might consider it for themselves or a family member, or have questions they would like addressed. Community interest is one part of the discussion; practical considerations, including groundwater protection, would also need careful evaluation.
No decision to establish a green burial section has been made. Completing the survey does not reserve a burial space or commit you to anything—it simply gives you a chance to share your opinion.
Please respond by November 8 and share this post with other Ramona residents.
Thank you for helping our community explore this option thoughtfully.
