Fatal Crash Blocks Highway 74
Route 74 from Palm Desert to the Route 371 junction in Aguanga was expected to be closed until 1 p.m.

SAN DIEGO, CA: A young girl was killed and two adults were seriously injured Sunday when a car tumbled 200 feet down off the side of the Palms To Pines Highway above Palm Desert.
CHP officers were investigating the possibility that the child — whose name or age were not made available — was sitting in a lap in the ill-fated Porsche, a two-seater, according to the Desert Sun newspaper.
That highway is the back-country route between San Diego and the Coachella Valley.
