Helicopter Crashes Near Borrego Air Ranch Airport In East County
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

BORREGO SPRINGS, CA – A helicopter crashed Monday afternoon in a remote desert area in eastern San Diego County, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 1:30 p.m. north of Borrego Air Ranch Airport in Borrego Springs, according to sheriff's officials. Deputies, fire crews and park rangers responded to the scene.
Deputies searched the barren terrain in the area by air and ground before finding the downed aircraft, believed to be operated by a Palm Springs-based helicopter charter and tour company called Big Blue Air, sheriff's Lt. Amber Baggs said.

The four people aboard the aircraft escaped the accident with minor injuries, authorities said.
