Man Fatally Shot Outside Apartment In Nearby Escondido

Escondido police sought today whoever fatally shot a man outside an apartment complex.

The victim was mortally wounded in the 1200 block of East Washington Avenue near South Ash Street around 11 p.m. Monday, Escondido police Sgt. Erik Witholt said.

The unidentified man was taken to a hospital, but later died.

Witholt said no arrests had been made as of early morning. A suspect description was not immediately available.
