• Ramona High has a new girls basketball coaching staff (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Ramona High's girls basketball program is getting a fresh start with a new head coach, a disabled Air Force veteran, and a staff that includes active-duty Navy and Marine personnel plus a local pastor. After just five wins in two seasons, they're rebuilding from the ground up, recruiting athletes around campus and aiming to turn The Doghouse into a packed, intimidating home court for Ramona fans. 
• Pool supply giant closes 8 stores across the Bay Area (newsbreak.com) — Ramona residents who rely on Leslie's for pool supplies will soon lose their local store at 1905 Main Street as the national chain closes 76 locations amid Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company says the restructuring should erase most of its debt and keep other California stores open, but Ramona customers will now have to travel farther for in-person pool care products and services.
