Report of 'Suspicious Person' Prompts Lockdown at Ramona High School

BREAKING: The potential security issue Wednesday prompted authorities to lock down the campus.

RAMONA, CA — A report of a suspicious person in a neighborhood near Ramona High School prompted a brief lockdown at the campus Wednesday.

Sheriff's personnel alerted administrators at the Hanson Lane secondary school to the potential security issue about 10:15 a.m., said Anne Staffieri, superintendent of the Ramona Unified School District.

Teachers kept all students secured inside their locked classrooms until deputies gave them an all-clear about 25 minutes later.

"At no time was the campus under a threat," Staffieri said.

It was unclear if patrol personnel located or detained the reported suspicious person.
