Shooting Threat To Ramona High School Is Hoax: Authorities
Sheriff's detectives and school administrators are still investigating the incident.

RAMONA, CA – A school shooting threat against Ramona High School has been identified as a hoax, authorities said Friday.
Officials from the Ramona Sheriff's Substation responded to the school after learning about a possible threat to the campus at 1401 Hanson Lane. An investigation revealed that a student told several other students not to come to school on Friday because there was going to be a shooting, according to the sheriff's department.
"The student was identified and interviewed," officials said in a press release. "The student was cooperative and said the threat was a hoax."

Sheriff's detectives and school administrators are still investigating the incident.
"The San Diego Sheriff's Department takes threats to our schools seriously and vigorously investigates any information we receive," officials said. "Working with the school district, our focus is to ensure a safe learning environment for the students and staff."

Sheriff's officials advised anyone with information about a potential threat to contact the department immediately.
Call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 with information to remain anonymous. Tipsters may be eligible for up to a$1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
