RAMONA, CA: A 79-year-old woman killed when her car was struck broadside by a pickup truck on a rural roadway in Ramona last week was a resident of the nearby San Diego Country Estates, authorities said Tuesday.

Sharon Ruth Blodgett drove her Toyota Camry directly into the path of the eastbound Ford F-150 while trying to make a left turn from northbound Green Haven Lane to San Vicente Road in Ramona shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol and the county Medical Examiner's Office. The crash sent the Camry into a parked van.

Blodgett died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, authorities said.
