• Board to consider 5-year law enforcement services compact with Rancho Mirage (kesq.com) — Rancho Mirage is poised to lock in a five-year, $86 million contract for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to keep handling all city police services through mid-2031. Supervisors will review the deal, which maintains 16 deputies’ worth of staffing, specialized traffic and problem-oriented policing units, and full investigative coverage, all paid by the city without tapping county general funds.
