7 Displaced by Escondido Fire

Smoke billowed from the home Sunday Evening

Seven people were in need of emergency lodging today following an electrical fire in the garage of their Escondido home.

Firefighters sent to 825 Pico Place shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday found the garage in flames but managed to keep the blaze from seriously damaging the home, acting Battalion Chief Chip Paulson said.

Crews had the fire contained in about half an hour, but smoke billowed into the home and left it temporarily uninhabitable, Paulson said. No one was injured.
