Del Sur Elementary K-3 Movie Stars Take to the Red Carpet

The Red Carpet Premier of "Hero's Choice: An Interactive Movie" was a success Thursday night.

Students and their families gathered on the red carpet at Del Sur Elementary Thursday night for the Red Carpet Premiere of Hero's Tale: An Interactive Movie, after the stars were brought in via limousine.

The movie, which was written, performed and edited by students in kindergarten through third grade, is "interactive," in that the audience chooses which direction to take the story. The film goes over the history of a handful of American icons including Thomas Edison, Ruby Bridges, Dr. Seuss and Henry Ford.

The film has been nominated for an IVIE (Innovative Video in Education) award—an honor Del Sur students received last year for Flashback in Time.

Mrs. Power, who teaches kindergarten at Del Sur, and Mrs. Robles, a 2-3 grade teacher, were the masterminds behind the overall production of the film.

Power has been producing the movies for several years, but this is Robles' first year participating.
