Discovery Concert to Spotlight Rancho Bernardo High School Chamber Orchestra
May 13 event to feature Sinfonia for Strings by Dmitri Shostakovich and Air and Simple Gifts by John Williams

The Discovery Concert Series at the Rancho Bernardo Library will present some of this community's top high school chamber musicians at a special performance from 3 to 4 pm Saturday, May 13. Featuring the Rancho Bernardo High School (RBHS) Chamber Orchestra, the concert will be in the Library Community Room, at 17110 Bernardo Center Drive.
Directed by RBHS Music Teacher Zachary Christy, the orchestra will present the Sinfonia for Strings (String Quartet no. 8, 110a) by Dmitri Shostakovich and Air and Simple Gifts by John Williams. The string orchestra program at RBHS allows all students to participate in the RB Symphony Orchestra, which is one of the largest public school full orchestras in San Diego County. However, the RBHS Chamber Orchestra is comprised of the top members of the orchestra program.
The Discovery Concerts at the library serve to educate the public about various music forms and to expand the opportunity for local musicians to perform. There is no charge for this performance. All ages are welcome.
