Gas Leak Stopped In Rancho Bernardo

The San Diego Police Department asked residents in the area to shelter in place while crews worked to stop a gas leak.

RANCHO BERNARDO, CA – Rancho Bernardo residents in the area of West Bernardo and Via Frontera had to shelter in place Thursday while crews worked to stop a gas leak.

The gas leak was reported at 11:50 a.m. in the area, according to county officials. San Diego police asked residents in the area to shelter in place.

Emergency personnel repaired the gas line by 2:50 p.m.

"The gas leak has been resolved and is no longer a hazard," officials said in an announcement.

Officials advised residents returning home or moving about in the neighborhood to drive slowly as repair crews remain in the area.
