Help Save the Lake at Webb Park
You can be a part of the Future of Rancho Bernardo and the future of Webb Lake
The lake at Webb Park in Rancho Bernardo is slated to be drained and re-landscaped with drought resistant plants. So many members of the community shouted “No! We want to keep our lake,” that Scott Lawn of Greenway Landscaping, researched the possibility of digging a well. He took several bids, including having to dig very deep, and used that amount of $75,000 to approach the owners of the lake, the Town Center Group, with this alternative: If a group of concerned citizens raise the money for the well, will you allow us to install it. After much consideration, they said yes! The plan to dry out the lake was postponed till mid-January.
Various individuals and businesses have lined up to help. Windermere Homes & Estates, situated in the heart of RB, volunteered to do a Fun-raising event, and invite all of the community to help save the lake. With all the excitement about Back to the Future, and the opening of the new Carmel Mountain Ranch Theater, Angelika which showed the movie Wednesday night - the destination date in the original movie, it seemed a natural pairing. Windermere will have drinks and food before the movie, fabulous raffle prizes - including passes to Angelika, jewelry and gift certificates from Unicorn, Restaurant gift certificates, and Gift Baskets. Then, we’ll show Back to the Future while moviegoers continue to graze! Sound fun? Want to come? Want to contribute a drawing prize? Want to help save Webb Lake? Then save the date, November 10, from 5- 8, and be a part of Rancho Bernardo’s Future!
