  • Other principals in the 37-campus district can request an internal transfer to RB High, though that does not guarantee they will be granted the position. PUSD has 25 elementary schools, six middle schools, five high schools and one continuation school (Abraxas High).
  • The district often holds separate forums for faculty/staff and the community to find out what attributes they would like to see in the new principal. It's not yet clear if these will be held for RB High.
  • An internal transfer candidate may be chosen or, if not, the district would begin looking for outside candidates.
  • Superintendent John Collins and his cabinet will choose a candidate to recommend to the PUSD Board of Education for final approval.
  • The PUSD Board of Education will vote on the recommendation. Personnel hires are typically handled under the "consent calendar" portion of board meeting agendas where individual items are only discussed if someone requests to have them pulled. Otherwise, the slate of consent items is approved in one vote.
