Par for the Course: Olivia Hudson Foundation Tees Off to Raise Money for Three San Diego Charities

OLIVIA HUDSON FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SECOND ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC AND CHARITY EVENT TO SUPPORT PEDIATRIC BRAIN CANCER RESEARCH

Looking for an excused to get out on the links? Look no further than the Olivia Hudson Foundation’s 2nd Annual Golf Classic and Banquet being held on May 22 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn to raise much-needed monies for three area charitable organizations.

There’s no required handicap here. Just 18 holes on a spectacular championship course, raising funds for pediatric brain cancer research and to help children in need.

The Olivia Hudson Foundation (OHF) was founded in memory of Olivia Rae Hudson, a vibrant, energetic and much-loved little angel who fought a valiant battle with brain cancer before bravely succumbing to the disease short of her fourth birthday – with her favorite sparkly princess shoes on her feet. During the two years she was sick, Olivia inspired everyone she touched with her courage, positive attitude, infectious smile and loving heart.

She continues to help others with the foundation her parents, Andre and Rachel Hudson, established in November 2013 to honor her life. OHF’s goal is to further pediatric brain cancer research, help families and children with brain cancer, and raise public awareness of pediatric brain cancer.

Since its inception a year and a half ago, OHF has raised more than $14,600. Their goal for their upcoming fundraiser is even greater: to generate $5,000 for the HOPES Fund at Rady’s Children’s Hospital of San Diego; $10,000 for Olivia’s Kids Against Cancer, an OHF program; and $20,000 for medical research currently being done at Moores Cancer Research Center of La Jolla.

“Our goal at OHF is to raise awareness of, and further research for, pediatric brain cancer,” said Ken Hudson, Vice President and Co-Founder of OHF. “This tournament is a wonderful way to bring golfers and other members of the community together to raise much-needed monies for a very worthy cause. Please join us to help children and their families in need.”

OHF’s 2nd Annual Golf Classic and Banquet will be held at the Rancho Bernardo Inn on Friday, May 22 at 12 p.m. followed by a banquet for golfers, donors and charity partners. The entrance fees of $500 per foursome, or $135 per golfer, include entry to the tournament along with various competitions held in conjunction with the tournament for prizes, such as hole-in-one, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests. A banquet dinner featuring an awards ceremony and entertainment will be held following the tournament and is included in the ticket price for golfers. Banquet-only tickets for $40 are also available.
