Public Citizen Asks Poway Unified to Reject Corporate Advertising Idea

The advocacy group wants the district to stop a fundraising idea.

An advocacy group is asking Poway Unified School District to reject the idea of advertising on campuses, according to U-T San Diego.

The district's Foundation has been considering corporate advertising in an effort to raise funds. But advocacy group Public Citizen’s Commercial Alert's Elizabeth Ben-Ishai said children will be "vulnerable" to the corporate advertisements, according to the newspaper.
