RB Library Discovery Concert Presents "Music From Around the World"

Discovery Series to Add International Performances to Free Library Program

The Discovery Music Series at the Rancho Bernardo Library will present its first international concert at 3 pm Saturday, March 11, in the 2nd floor community room at the Rancho Bernardo Library. The concert will feature Japanese and Iranian music.

Performing at the concert are "The Harmonies" Japanese choir, which is directed by Naomi Hobbs. They began in 2003 and enjoy singing traditional Japanese songs and modern songs with their original arrangements. Also at the concert, Homa Massih will perform piano music by Iranian composers. She received her Bachelors of Arts in piano performance and musicology from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran University and is a piano teacher in Rancho Bernardo.

With the addition of international concerts to its program, the Discovery Series at the library continues to educate the public about various musical forms and to expand the opportunity for local musicians to perform. There is no charge for this performance. All ages are welcome.
