San Rafael Ringers to Perform at RB Library Jan. 14

Nine-member ensemble will be performing with English handbells.

The Rancho Bernardo Library Discovery concert series kicks off the new year with a performance by the San Rafael Ringers at 3 pm Saturday, January 14. This free concert will be held in the community room on the 2nd floor of the library, at 17110 Bernardo Center Drive.

The nine-member ensemble will be performing with English handbells to create recognizable melodies and harmony, according to Co-Director Nick Heye. "This instrument is far more sophisticated than your average bell and has a rich history that traces back to change ringing in church towers. We hope our community will be inspired by the beauty that this joyful instrument brings," he said.

The Discovery series of concerts at the library serves to educate the public about various music forms and to expand the opportunity for local musicians to perform. There is no charge for this performance. All ages are welcome.
