Souplantation Serves Healthy Living Lesson for Bernardo Heights Students

Four seventh graders who lead a healthy living club at Bernardo Heights Middle School had the chance to learn more themselves.

Souplantation opened its headquarters kitchen to the All About Me club from Bernardo Heights Middle School on Tuesday as part of its Health Champions program with Rady's Childrens Hospital.

Four seventh grade girls run the club, teaching 25 of their peers about healthy living during lunch every Monday using Health Champions materials. It was their turn to learn on Tuesday, as they were able to make their own healthy lunch, exercise and ask questions about food safety at the headquarters of Garden Fresh, the Souplantation parent company, on Bernardo Center Drive.

The All About Me club meets in room 204 on Mondays and is open to new members, said the officers, Georgia Young, Taylor Jervis, Menza Bolamba and Nika Khoroshi.
