Students Take the Stage in RB High Battle of the Bands
Over the past two weeks, 11 different bands have competed during lunchtime at Rancho Bernardo High School.

For the past two weeks, it's been the Battle of the Bands at Rancho Bernardo High School as 11 music groups faced off.
By Wednesday, the field had been narrowed to four. Two of the four finalists—Sea of Solace and The Uncertain—performed during lunchtime on Thursday as their classmates and family members looked on.
The winner will be announced Friday.

Sophomore Michelle Liu, vice president of activities and Battle of the Bands coordinator, said the yearly tradition gives RB High's talented students a different way to showcase their work than they have at talent shows. In February, it was a packed house at the .
The finalists for the Battle of the Bands were chosen by the dollars—more than 400 of them, actually. After each day's competition, students could contribute money to the band they liked most. The bands with the most money made it to the finals, Liu said, adding that by Thursday students had contributed $467.

A panel of judges, including Principal Paul Robinson and past Battle winners Elan Levy and Josh Richards of BlackSheep BlueSheep, will help pick the winner who will take home all contributed money.
Levy and Richards graduated in 2009 and said they see "good potential" in this year's Battle finalists.
The four finalists are:
- Sea of Solace—Stan Jia, Jacob Grey, Skyler Metz
- LEM—Cedric Agatep, Ryan Singelyn, Ryan Burt, Erik Aguigam, Orion Delacruz
- Karoke Night—Alan Yu, Joseph Ho, Phillip Duong, Warner Tse, Brad Sandubrae
- The Uncertain—Andrew Manz, Chelsea Thomas, Dillon Thomas, Kyle Blackburn
