Youth Philharmonic Orchestra​ to Perform Spring Violin Concert

March 18​ performance to be at Incarnation Lutheran Church.

The Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO) will present its Spring Violin Concert at 1 pm Saturday, March 18, at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 16889 Espola Road, Poway.

Directed by Ulli Reiner, Artistic Director and co-founder of the YPO, the Intermediate Violin Class will present selections from Suzuki Book Two, including Hunter’s Chorus and Long, Long Ago and Variation. They will also perform Fiddling Songs, from Mark O'Connor and his American Music Method, featuring Bonapart’s Retreat, Old Joe Clark and Amazing Grace. The Beginning Violin Class will also perform Fiddling Songs and selections from Suzuki Book One.

The Suzuki method taught by Ms. Reiner is an internationally known music curriculum created by Japanese violinist and educator Shinichi Suzuki. Ms. Reiner is a 2017 Grammy Education Award finalist and 2016 semi finalist. She is also the Orchestra Director for the Poway Unified School District and is engaged in numerous other music education curriculums throughout San Diego County.
