YPO Summer Festival Orchestra Finale to Feature Music of Beethoven and Mozart

July 16 Concert to be at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church

The Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO) Summer Festival performances conclude at 4 pm Sunday, July 16, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 16275 Pomerado Road, Poway. This concert is the third of the new YPO Festival Orchestra series directed by Alyze Dreiling, Artistic Director and Conductor. The orchestra will feature the Beethoven Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in G major, op 58, by prize-winning concert pianist Bryan Verhoye. It will also present the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major, K364, by soloists Harold Reeves (violin) and Paul Wang (viola). Finishing off the concert is the Beethoven Symphony No.2.

Besides being a published composer and arranger, Verhoye is the accompanist for the San Diego Master Chorale, Music Associate/Pianist at Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church and Adjunct Professor of Music at Grossmont College. Harold Reeves is a Violin Performance major studying with Mikhail Kopelman at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, while Wang has a Master's degree in viola performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and performs in several local chamber groups and orchestras.

The Festival Orchestra is a summer music program of the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO). The YPO is dedicated to enhancing the musical, social and intellectual growth of young musicians of all ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds, through inspired instruction, dynamic ensemble rehearsals and exceptional performances.
