Attendees will hear about recycled water, turf replacement, rebates, water quality, and new legislation affecting local associations, giving residents tools to save money and conserve resources at home.
2. Tour Fire Station At Free Open House In Rancho Santa Margarita (patch.com) — Rancho Santa Margarita families can tour their neighborhood fire station during a free Orange County Fire Authority open house this October. Residents will see how Station 56 operates, meet local firefighters, and watch safety demonstrations, offering kids and adults a close-up look at emergency services in their own community.
3. Starbucks closes 2 cafes in south Orange County (ocregister.com) — Rancho Santa Margarita residents are losing a long-standing Starbucks at Plaza del las Flores, one of two south Orange County cafes the company abruptly closed this week. The shop, open for more than 25 years, is part of Starbucks' broader restructuring that's shuttering underperforming locations, even as another drive-through Starbucks remains in the same center.
4. Lowest premium gas price in Orange County available at $5.65 per gallon in week ending Sept. 19 (southoctimes.com) — If you're filling up in Rancho Santa Margarita, premium gas recently hovered in the mid-$6 range, similar to many other Orange County cities. A GasBuddy survey for the week ending Sept. 19 shows countywide premium prices averaging $6.40, with detailed city-by-city lows that can help you hunt for a slightly cheaper pump nearby.
