An appeal to parents

This is a short appeal to parents of children on various kinds of wheeled vehicles that race around the Lake. Please take a moment to talk with your children about respect for other people, especially some of our elderly neighbors who also enjoy walking around the lake. There seems to be an increasing number of 'near misses' with out-of-control children on scooters, skates and bicycles. Most parents keep their children on a "tight leash" but there are a few who seem to be running wild without any parental control. I'm afraid there will be a collision, if there hasn't already, that could have been avoided by simply teaching children to respect everyone, especially when they are playing excitedly with their friends.
