ARE SAMLARC MEMBERS GETTING THEIR MONIES WORTH?

If you've driven around RSM lately you've probably noticed that the community is starting to look a little worse for wear. Unlike the members who get notices and fines from the SAMLARC management for not keeping their yards in pristine condition, SAMLARC has let a lot of the landscaping throughout the City spiral into a less than appealing state. Some of this may be attributed to the drought, but not all.

The SAMLARC Board passed a new policy to have 85% plant coverage for all new landscaping installed by members (this was an arbitrary number devised by a Board member without any reasonable analysis or explanation). Now look at the common area hillsides along the major streets in town, are they covered by that same percentage? No there are huge bare areas. Next time you're out take good look at the medians, count how many 3 and 4 foot weeds you see sticking out of the landscaping or the weeds growing out of the concrete pavers in the center medians. For the hundreds of thousands of dollars of member's funds spent on maintenance it shows very poor oversight by the management company.

Have you been to the lake lately? Did you know that the lake hasn't offered a chance for youngsters to catch a fish in about two years? This is due to a golden algae infestation that the management company has not been able to solve despite spending thousands of dollars of membership money. To try to find the solution that has eluded the management company staff and their paid consultants, the Board formed an ad hoc committee in October, but still no fish. It's sad to see a young kid trying their hardest to catch a fish when there is no chance due to the mismanagement of the community's most prominent asset. Maybe the management company should at least have the courtesy to post a sign letting kids know the lake is void of fish. Let's see how much more membership money will be spent to try and correct the problem.

This is a just couple examples of the question, ARE SAMLARC MEMBERS GETTING THEIR MONIES WORTH? Lots more to come…………..
