Author Kieren van den Blink visits St. John's

Author Kieren van den Blink met with 1st and 3rd Grade students in the Library on Friday, April 17 to read her book, Sniff. Sniff is the first in a 5 book series of children’s books based on the senses. The students were excited for Ms. van den Blink’s visit and participated in the read-a-aloud by offering answers to her questions and sharing their favorite sniff. After she shared her book, each student received a Sniff bookmark.

Throughout the year students have been learning about various authors and the steps it takes to create a story from start to finish. Prior to Ms. van den Blink’s visit, 3rd Grade students participated in an Author’s Tea in the Library where they shared their own books they wrote and designed for their parents.
