ClubCorp Event at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club nets over $260,000 for Local Charities

Golf tournament and fundraiser sets new bar in 9th year!

Last Saturday, August 22, Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club, a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs, raised $260,000 through their 9th Annual ClubCorp Charity Classic event benefiting four local charities.

This year’s affair featured a golf tournament, 5K and 1K runs/walks, mixed doubles tennis, a cocktail hour and silent auction, and dinner followed by a live auction. Last year, the club raised $198,963 through this event, making 2015’s total of $260,000 a 31% increase in much needed fundraising dollars.

The 9th Annual Charity Classic event held at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club benefited these four charities:

· Orange County California Abuse Prevention Center, Orange County’s leading non-profit focused solely on the prevention of child abuse.

· California Youth Services (CYS), which provides programs and services across Orange County focused on education, prevention, intervention, assessment and counseling that assist and support adolescents, parents and individuals to address life’s challenges related to substances abuse, delinquent behavior, mental health and families in crisis.

· The ClubCorp Employee Partners Care Foundation, which has granted more than 1,500 requests and awarded more than $1.8 million to Employee Partners in need of financial assistance in times of crisis.

· Augie’s Quest, an aggressive, cure-driven effort focused on finding treatments and cures for ALS. Since 2007, Augie’s Quest has raised more than $44 million to fund ALS research – making it the largest individual fundraising program for ALS. Augie’s Quest supports the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the world’s first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research.

To date, this is the largest grossing event in the 9 year history of the Charity Classic events, which collectively raised $2.5 million last year for charities nationwide.
