Huge community disaster preparation events offers 20 workshops from experts and law enforcement professionals to prepare for emergencies.
The City of Rancho Santa Margarita and the Interfaith Council will sponsor a free emergency preparedness event this Saturday, March 25 from 10 am-3:00 pm at the RSM Bell Tower. The event includes 20 free workshop programs put on by experts like the Orange County Fire Authority, Orange County Sheriff, Red Cross, Orange County Public Works, and 211 OC, all of whom will provide practical, take-home education on a variety of topics.
Experts will cover disaster readiness and survival in case of fire, flood, earthquake, mudflow, and other natural disasters as well as action plans in case of a terrorist/active shooter emergency. Workshops will also cover CPR/first aid; 72-hour kits; food/water/supply storage; family/home/neighborhood emergency plans.
This is a tremendous cooperative effort between the city government, municipal and civic agencies, local churches, and community leaders to prepare area residents for every possible emergency including some that Rancho Santa Margarita and surrounding areas have faced such as wildfires and localized flooding.
