The Orange County average price today record its largest daily decrease
since Nov. 7, 2012, dropping 2.4 cents to $2.911, its lowest amount since Aug. 3, 2009. The Orange County average price has decreased 39 of the past 40 days and is 9.9 cents less than one week ago, 27.5 cents lower than one month ago and 71.8 cents below what it was one year ago.
``As oil prices continue to fall worldwide and locally, refineries
appear to be maximizing their production, leading to plentiful supply at a low-demand time of year,’’ said Jeffrey Spring, the corporate communications manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
