Friends of the Rancho Santa Margarita Library will use a grant from the Cox Cares Foundation to host a six-week, professionally presented after school program titled “Full STEAM Ahead.” Science programming at the RSM Library brings science to life for kids and demonstrates real-world applications of concepts they see in textbooks.
The Cox Cares Foundation is funded entirely by Cox Communications employee payroll donations and corporate matching. Since its establishment in 1999, the foundation has contributed $4.5 million to local nonprofit organization offering programs that focus on youth, education and the military.

The nonprofit Friends of the RSM Library donates thousands each year to the RSM Library to support programs for children, teens and adults. The group earns funds through sales at the FOL Bookstore (30902 La Promesa) and through its fall and spring book sales held in the RSM Library Community Room. The big Fall Sale, scheduled for November 14 and 15, will feature tons of gently used books for everyone.
“We save the best cook books, biographies, how-to and travel books, as well as beautiful books for children and teens, for this pre-holiday sale,” says Janet Gahagan, bookstore manager. “Join us from 10 a.m until 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 14 and 15. You’re sure to find something for everyone on your gift list.”
