RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Strong, gusty winds will buffet parts of the Southland Tuesday before weakening at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, forecasters said.

In Orange County, a wind advisory was scheduled to be in force until 4 p.m. NWS forecasters expect winds of 15 to 25 mph with 40 mph gusts along the Orange County coast and 20 to 30 mph with 50-mph gusts in the county's inland areas. Sunny skies were also forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 67 in Yorba Linda; 68 in San Clemente and Mission Viejo; and 69 in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Fullerton, Anaheim, and Irvine.

The weather service warned that high winds would make for tough driving, especially for high-profile vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. It said the most challenging roadways would include Interstate 5 and highways 14, 33 and 126 in the San Gabriel Mountains and Santa Clarita Valley and, in the Santa Monicas, Kanon Road and Topanga, Malibu and Decker canyons.
