Neon Nation Shines Light on '80s Supergroups, Hits

Summer Concert Series continues this week with performances that rocked the Reagan Era.

Rancho Santa Margarita's  Summer Concerts takes a step in the way-back machine Sunday to revisit the 1980s.

Neon Nation, a band that specializes in hits of '80s performers such as Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, Madonna and Blondie and iconic songs such as "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Jessie's Girl" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" will take the stage at 6 p.m. at .

The event is free and comes on the heels of by a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band.

Admission to the concert is free.

Concerts run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In partnership with SAMLARC, the city will host three more concerts in the summer twilight at Central Park. In the past, concert-goers brought chairs and blankets as well as friends and family.

Here's the remainder of the schedule:

  • July 24—Neon Nation, hits of the 1980’s
  • July 31—The Kelly Fitzgerald Band, featuring rock 'n' roll
  • August 7—Surf City All Stars, surfing tunes
