Outpour Of Support For OC Woman Critically Injured In Hit-And-Run

WESTMINSTER, CA — A local dog trainer is in the Intensive Care Unit for critical injuries after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking her dogs in Westminster.
Westminster resident and Orange County dog trainer Karina Granat was walking her dogs while crossing a street at Kalamath Drive and Iroquois Road on June 29 when she was struck by a silver Ford Explorer, according to a previous Patch report.
Granat was found lying in the street, her dogs frightened but unharmed, and the driver of the car was nowhere to be found. She was quickly moved to an emergency hospital where she has months of recovery ahead of her.

Since the crash, the Orange County community has rallied behind Granat, who is a well-loved dog trainer employed by Wags & Wiggles Dog Daycare in Rancho Santa Margarita.

A community GoFundMe was set up by Granat's friends in order to help cover medical bills, physical therapy, medical equipment and future lost wages.
As of Wednesday, community donations raised roughly $77,000 to cover Granat's expenses.
Orange County residents interested in helping Granat through this difficult time are asked to share the GoFundMe page and donate through the website.
