Photo of the Week: Rancho Santa Margarita Concert Captures Joy of Music
This photo of the week taken in Rancho Santa Margarita shows the joy of kids at an area concert from the 2016 summer concert series.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA—Local photographer Francisco Tejeras found himself at Central Park in Rancho Santa Margarita the second weekend of the Summer Concerts.
"The band playing was a country western group, called the Smith," he said in an email interview. "That night was fantastic because the entire community got together and danced."
According to Tejeras, the crowd stood up and line danced just before this picture was taken.

"I saw those three girls just dancing away like there was no tomorrow," he said. "They were laughing" when he took the picture, and before the image was captured, Tejeras says the girls didn't seem like they were the best friends, but with the image he captured, they were in this moment.
What makes this photo special to Tejeras? He happens to be deaf.

"I am deaf but can hear very well with a cochlear implant," he said. "Music became very important to me. Because (of being deaf and now hearing with the implant), I notice things hearing people don't. That's when I saw those girls dancing, it captured exactly what I was feeling. Music is beautiful and they were expressing themselves."
Francisco Tejeras is a 30-year-old, self proclaimed Rancho Santa Margaritian who lives across from RSM lake.
"I'm a freelance photographer, specialized in automotive events in Southern California," he said. He uses a digital DSLR Canon.
"It's the variety spice of life that Southern California has to offer that makes photography a joy," he said. "There are beaches, deserts and mountains and everything in between."
