Planned Power Outage Coming in Rancho Santa Margarita

Be advised, residents of Rancho Santa Margarita. A planned power outage is scheduled, Aug. 29 and 30. Here is what you need to know:

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA--108 residential customers amd 37 industrial customers will be affected by a planned power outage that will begin on Aug. 29 at 10 p.m. in addition, two traffic controls will be disabled during the outage.

The outage Boundary will be: NORTH SIDE EL PORTAL 145' WEST OF EL PASEO CENTER LINE

Please note that the power may be off for the whole period or may be turned off more than once. This planned outage may not begin exactly at the stated start time, and some conditions may cause this planned outage to be postponed.

"This is a courtesy notification for local government officials from Southern California Edison (SCE) regarding maintenance outages in your community. SCE will soon be performing maintenance on the electrical system in the area. In order to perform this work safely, we must temporarily turn off power. This outage will allow us to modernize our grid by making needed upgrades and repairs to increase our reliability. We realize that power outages may cause some inconvenience, therefore we try to isolate outages down to the smallest area possible and complete the work safely and as quickly as we can. We appreciate your understanding as we work to increase system reliability for the future," SCE said.
