Residents Urged To Attend Town Hall On District Elections

The town hall will be held to discuss the process of transitioning to by-district elections in the City of Rancho Santa Margarita.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA β€” Rancho Santa Margarita residents were urged to be a part of a town hall designed to discuss the process of transitioning to by-district elections, the city announced Monday.

According to the city, the town hall is being held to discuss changes to the state's voting laws expected to take place in 2024. Starting next year, voters will vote for one city council member who lives in their district.

This new system will replace the current system of at-large citywide elections, where voters can vote for all city council members.
