RSM Receives Award Of Merit For Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

City Planners will now submit the plan for consideration for the American Planning Association's National Planning Awards.

The Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP or plan) provides direction to reduce future loss of life and property and a resiliency guide to mitigate adverse impacts on people, facilities, and infrastructure in the event of a natural disaster.

The City was awarded both the OC-APA Comprehensive Plan Award of Excellence and the American Planning Association California Chapter, 2020 Award of Merit for its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. City Planners will now submit the plan for consideration for the American Planning Association’s National Planning Awards.

This is a tremendous honor for the City and a rare accomplishment for planners. The LHMP is available to view at cityofrsm.org/5017.
