Santa Margarita Parkway Bridge Hinge Maintenance Project Update

Median demolition continues this week to allow crews to backfill in preparation for paving. One lane of westbound traffic will be diverted onto the eastbound bridge in early August.

The contractor is currently working adjacent to the bridge and below deck. Last week’s demolition of the median will allow crews to backfill in preparation for paving over the area to eventually allow one lane of westbound traffic to be diverted onto the eastbound bridge. The projected timeframe for the traffic shift is early August.

Please note that all landscaping, including replacement of Magnolia trees, will occur upon completion of the bridge maintenance project.

Below the bridge, construction activity includes stream diversion and grading in preparation for pile installation in the coming weeks.

Current traffic volume allows for lane closures beginning at 7:00 a.m.
