St. John's Receives Two New Soccer Goals
A portion of the funds raised at the Gala went to the purchase of new soccer equipment for the Athletics program.
St. John’s Gala not only raised money for technology in the classroom and further enhancements to the STEAM program, but also for the purchase of two new soccer goals for the Athletics program. During the 100 Yard Dash event at the Gala on March 28, guests were allotted 5 minutes to race to the front of the ballroom and place their bids from $1 to $100 on a scoreboard in support of new soccer equipment. Excitement and adrenaline filled the room as parents pushed through the crowd. When the buzzer sounded a tally was totaled and St. John’s raised $5,000 in 5 minutes without anyone spending over $100!
Students were smiling ear to ear this week when two new soccer goals arrived to the field. Soccer is a treasured sport among St. John’s students at recess, during PE, and for practice during soccer season. A special thank you goes to the parents and faculty for their generosity and dedication to enhancing the education of St. John’s students.
