For Parents Whose Kids Have Smartphones, Tablets, Other Handheld Devices, or Access to the Internet, Feb 23 and 24.

Tesoro and Trabuco Hills High School PTSAs have teamed up to host the nationally-acclaimed non-profit organization FIGHT THE NEW DRUG (www.fightthenewdrug.org) to educate parents of their respective schools and middle school feeders about the harmful effects of the growing influence of pornography and sexting. Using science, facts, and personal accounts, Fight the New Drug will make presentations at both schools free to the public. Those interested may attend Monday, February 23 at 7 pm in the Trabuco Hills High School MPR, 27501 Mustang Road, Mission Viejo or Tuesday, February 24 at 7 pm in the Tesoro High School Theater, 1 Tesoro Creek Road, Las Flores.
The New York Times recently reported, “Today’s easy access to pornography, especially its violent and illegal forms, makes it imperative for parents to educate their children, not only about sex but specifically about online pornography, in all its flavors…at an early age,” Parenting in the Age of Online Pornography, New York Times, Jan. 7, 2015.
