The order, in effect through December unless rains arrive early, aligns Lassen with Shasta-Trinity and Whiskeytown and aims to protect nearby communities, visitors, and firefighters.

Vitalant urges summer blood donations, shares how one donor can make a difference (krcrtv.com) ā Redding residents are being urged to donate blood as Vitalant reports one of its worst summers for donations in decades. The Battle of the Badges blood drive returns to Redding City Hall on August 25, where a single donation can be split into red cells, plasma, and platelets to help up to three patients.

Three California volunteer Fire Departments receive $10K grants (actionnewsnow.com) ā Mountain Gate Volunteer Fire Department in Redding has been awarded a $10,000 safety grant through State Farmās Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, one of only three California volunteer departments chosen. The funds can go toward vital gear like protective equipment, rescue tools, and communication devices, helping local volunteers better protect nearby communities.
