The City of San Bernardino and the San Bernardino Police Departement will join towns nationwide who are hosting National Night Out events as a way to promote neighborhood unity, friendly citizen and law enforcement relations; and as a happy side effect, prevent crime. Everyone in the neighborhood is invited out for free activities, games and food.
There will be bounce houses, go-carts, a rock climbing wall, face painting, a potato sack race, police and fire department vehicles, equipment and safety exhibits, PD Mounted Unit, SWAT, Bike Patrol, the Mobile Command Post, plus the sheriff's Helicopter. Raffle prizes will be given thoughout the evening.
Folks will also be turning on their porch lights that same night in a show of support.
