Fans Pack Royal Falconer for Women's World Cup

USA scores in overtime to take the lead 2-1.

As team USA faced off against Japan, a crowd packed into the Royal Falconer.

Tied 1-1 heading into overtime, the US took the lead near the end of the first half of overtime as Abby Wambach converted a pass from Diamond Bar's Alex Morgan to give the team the lead with 15 minutes remaining.

But the Japanese team pushed, and with about four minutes remaining, converted a corner kick to tie the game and send it to a penalty kick shootout.

In the shootout, Japan converted three of its four shots, as the US had two shots stopped, and another go over the bar, to give Japan the Women's World Cup championship.
