Highland Deputies Spot Stolen Vehicle; Arrest Driver, Passenger

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department says they arrested two people when they were spotted driving in a stolen vehicle around town.

A man and woman were arrested this week in Highland when police first spotted them in a stolen truck-- and they allegedly saw them throw drugs out the window.

According to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy S. Deasey, at around 9:38 a.m. Tuesday, deputies recognized the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado in the area of Baseline Street and Seine Avenue.  It had been reported stolen out of Ontario a day earlier.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Jerry Wills of San Bernardino, and the passenger, identified as 36-year-old Diedre Aguilar of Upland, were both "...observed throwing narcotics and drug paraphernalia out the windows of the truck" prior to being pulled over, according to a sheriff's report.

"Wells stopped the truck on the westbound 210 Freeway near Baseline Street, where he and Aguilar were arrested," according to Deasey.

Both were booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and transportation of a controlled substance, according to the deputy.
