Redlands High Grad Dominant as MSJC Women’s Soccer Defeat Grossmont 4-1

Mt. San Jacinto's freshman striker Kriston Hilkey, a Redlands High graduate, was a dominant player in the winning match at MSJC's Menifee campus.

Redlands High grad Kriston Hilkey helped Mt. San Jacinto College defeat Grossmont College 4-1 as the Lady Eagles kicked off their 2012 season Tuesday at the Menifee Campus.

Hilkey was dominant in the final 30 minutes as MSJC won 4-1. Grossmont College is in El Cajon.

The Lady Eagles played a scrimmage match on Friday at the University of Redlands. First year head coach Chauncey Hayes was pleased with the effort on Friday and feels good about his team heading into the season.

The Lady Eagles will host Riverside College on Friday. MSJC has two other non conference home games on the schedule including Tuesday Sept. 11 against Southwestern and Friday Sept. 14 against Pacifica. All of the Lady Eagles non conference home games will begin at 4 p.m. on the Menifee Campus.

Mt. San Jacinto College will start Foothill Conference play Friday Sept. 21 when they travel to Palm Desert to take on College of the Desert.

MSJC returns five players from last years team. Jamie Ayala returns for her sophomore season after starting 16 of MSJC's 17 matches last year. Ayala had 5 goals and 4 assists during her freshman campaign and is MSJC's leading returning scorer.

Goal Keeper Taylor Wolf, who recorded one shutout in goal last year for the Lady Eagles, also returns for her second season.

A pair of midfielders, Denise Aguilar and Jasmine Lopez, also return for MSJC. Also returning for her sophomore season is defender Karina Preciado. These five will be joined by a talented group of freshmen for 2012.
