REV Runs Away with CBL Title

His players doused him as he prepared to talk to the media after his Wildcats turned a showdown of undefeated teams into a blowout, as Redlands East Valley won its third straight Citrus Belt Leauge title with a 48-0 victory Thursday night.
The Wildcats (10-0 overall, 5-0 in the Citrus Belt League) scored 28 first quarter points, including returning the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown, to deflate the host Thunderbirds (9-1, 4-1).

Redlands East Valley scored 20 more points in the first half, to complete the scoring.
Meanwhile, in the other Citrus Belt League showdown, Redlands rallied from behind to earn the league's No. 3 playoff seed by beating A.B. Miller, 25-20.

Redlands East Valley wasn't the only city school to win a league title Thursday, either. Citrus Valley, in only its third year in existence, rallied to defeat Rubidoux, 35-23, to win the Mountain Valley League title.
Colton, which had rallied late to salvage its season, fell short in clinching a playoff berth Thursday night, as the Yellowjackets lost to San Gorgonio, 36-10.
Playoff pairings will be announced Sunday morning, and REV and Citrus Valley will both have home games in the first round. Tickets for all Ford CIF-Southern Section football games will be $8 for adults and $5 for students and children ages 5-13.
