Survival Scouts Disaster Preparedness March 19th
Boys and girls are encouraged to come learn American Red Cross Disaster preparedness for earthquake, flood and fire.
California is known as the Golden State. It is a land of eternal summers, snowy mountaintops, spiritual desert landscapes, and miles of gorgeous coastline. California is also home to triple-degree temperatures, earthquakes, floods, landslides and 840 miles of tsunami hazard zone.
While disaster isn’t likely to strike anytime soon, a Girl Scout just wouldn’t “be prepared” without proper training in emergency preparedness. In an effort to encourage girls to take preventative steps and actions toward being safe, the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council is hosting the Survival Scouts program on Saturday, March 19 at their High Desert Service Center in Victorville.
Survival Scouts will teach children American Red Cross Disaster preparedness for earthquake, flood and fire. Kids will connect with local community service agencies and learn to recognize potential hazards at home, plus local alerts and warning systems to prepare themselves and their families.
