2013 Manhattan Beach Open AVP Winners Inducted into Hall of Fame on Pier

The 2013 Manhattan Open AVP winners were inducted into the Hall of Fame located on the Manhattan Beach Pier today.

Since 1960, the winners of the Manhattan Beach Open have had their names etched in bronze and placed permanently on the Manhattan Beach Pier, and you can still walk the pier and see those names today.

The Walk of Fame ceremony will unveil the plaques for 2013’s winners, and there will be a special family connection. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings won last year’s women’s title with Whitney Pavlik, and Casey Jennings won the men’s title with Matt Fuerbringer. Kerri and Casey made history by becoming the first married couple to win the event in the same year.

The ceremony will feature all four winners, plus AVP owner Donald Sun and representatives from the city of Manhattan Beach.
