Gary Futterman, Owner of Flair Cleaners, Recognized as a Certified Environmental Cleaner

2012 marks the second consecutive time Mr. Futterman received this important industry title from the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute.

Delivering on its commitment as Southern California’s leading eco-friendly dry cleaning business, Flair Cleaners today announced that Owner Gary Futterman has been formally recognized as a Certified Environmental Drycleaner (CED) by the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI), the premier international trade association for garment care professionals. Earning a CED requires fulfilling a predetermined set of requirements and demonstrating the highest level of knowledge and expertise in this area.

In order to become a CED, an individual must pass a standard examination and make a commitment to become recertified every three years.  The drycleaner is tested on various environmental topics, including environmental regulations, proper waste handling, occupational safety and health, safe operation of dry cleaning equipment, and other Federal regulatory requirements. Frequent recertification is necessary, due to the constantly changing rules and regulations designed to protect both the environment and the public.

As a CED, Mr. Futterman possesses a proven knowledge about environmental regulation, proper waste handling, occupational safety and health, the safe operation of dry cleaning equipment, and other Federal requirements.  He adheres to the “Professional Standards of Certified Drycleaners” and demonstrates an in-depth awareness of laws and regulations as they pertain to the environmental and the dry cleaning industry.
